FILIPA PERALTINHA

Born in Portugal, Filipa has been a choreographer, performer and dance teacher with an extensive national and international career.

Despite her background in both classical and contemporary dance, her work reflects a meeting between her formal training and the strong influence of urban dances in her relationship with music and the body, as well as her fascination with the visual arts.

Sounds and textures are the catalysts for her creations as she strives to find a balance between turmoil and sensibility.

Filipa has had the honor to be a dancer for institutions including Cullberg Ballet, Carte Blanche, Tok’Art, LNDT,  Oslo Danse Ensemble,  Companhia Paulo Ribeiro, among others, and work with choreographers and mentors such as Mats Ek, Crystal Pite, Johan Inger, Alexander Ekman, Akira Hino, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Benoit Lachaîmbre, Rui Horta, Paulo Ribeiro, Ralf Jaroschinski, Benny Ninja, André Mesquita, Lander Patrick, to name a few.

She has been invited to teach at several schools, universities and dance companies around the world.

For the past 15 years, Filipa has been a guest artist, choreographer and talent for many national, as well as, international advertising campaigns, television and music projects.
